Lynda Carey




Lynda Carey, of Saratoga Springs, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was 67 years old.

She was born on January 31, 1948, in Troy. She was the daughter of Shirley (Clairmont) and the late Thomas Hodgson.

She was pre-deceased by her “Ever-lubbin’ hubbin”, John.

Lynda graduated from Catholic Central High School, class of 1965. She worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, before getting married in 1966, starting a family and becoming a full-time mom.


Most of all, she loved her grandkids. She loved Christmas, Thanksgiving, and cookouts with her family. She rooted for the Buffalo Bills and the NY Mets. … And hated driving.

She is survived by her daughters; Jackie Carey and Cindy Isherwood, son; John Carey (Felicia), her grandchildren Victoria Isherwood and Tyler & Bailey Carey, her mother, sister, brothers, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service in honor of Lynda will be held at 12 noon on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Route 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 with Father Marty Fisher of Notre Dame-Visitation Parish, Schuylerville officiating. 

Family and friends may call from 4 -6 pm on Sunday, May 17th, 2015 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Route 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Interment in honor of Lynda will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 18th. 2015, at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

  1. My sister-in law was a lovely kind hearted person. We immediately bonded when we first met. She had a beautiful soul. I will never forget all that she did for me when her brother, now my late husband met. Now she is an angel in heaven, just like on earth, with her soul mate. I'm sure God's arms welcomed her when she came through his door.
