Thomas M. Travis 

Thomas M. Travis age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at home.  

He was born on July 29, 1949 in Troy, NY to the late Floyd T. Travis and Doris Salmon Travis of Stillwater, NY. 

Tom graduated from Catholic Central High School, upon graduating from high school Tom continued his education attending Hudson Valley Community College where he graduated with an Associate's Degree.  Tom later attended Sylvania Technical School for Computer Programming.


Tom, fondly known as Trav, was a lifetime musician.  For many years Tom's profession enabled him to enjoy what he loved most, playing and making music.  Trav was a talented and passionate musician who could make any keyboard sing.  

Most recently, Tom was employed for 25 years at Skidmore College as an Information Technology Technician, and retired in March of 2010.  
                                                                                           
Tom is survived by the love of his life, his wife Christine Rose , his brother Robert N. Travis (Tamzie) of South Carolina (formerly of Malta, New York), brother-in-law Dr. Jerome C. Rose of Arkansas, sisters-in-law Carolyn Sizemore (Joe) of Arizona, Cynthia Rose O’Connell of MA, Cheryl Rose Barrows (Pete) of MA, his beloved Lhasa Apso's, Dixie E. Lee and Kiku Rose, and many close friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Dr. Dolores Burke Rose.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00-3:00 on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, New York.  A reception will be held immediately after at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge, 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom Travis' name to Angell Animal Medical Center at MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston MA, 02130, Attention: Donations.
