Cornelia C. Needham Rist White







Cornelia C. White, 99, went home to her Lord on January 5, 2014.  She was born on September 25, 1914 the daughter of the late Edsion and Florence Van Schaick Needham in Hudson Falls NY.
Cornelia who was also known as Connie or Nean, was a very gifted and talented lady, helping her sister in seamstress work and her husband building houses in Florida as well as New York, always busy.
Connie took a few painting lessons and ended up with many great paintings that was enjoyed by all until her eye sight failed her.  She also played music by ear, was famous for her skits and making music with teapots and crystal glasses.   Although she never took lessons she enjoyed playing the organ.
Connie was known as Cocoa the Clown, and also the Pie Lady, she was famous for baking pies for many years at Lake Cossayuna, New York, she made nearly 350 pies for the weekends!
Connie was a member of The Red Hats “Naughty Ladies of Shady Lane Club”, and she joined the American Legion post #252 in Breese, Ill when her grandson Mark Nelson Rist served in the Gulf War.
Connie belonged to the Ladies book club and she had her own Kitchen Band and the ladies would do their performances while living in Illinois.

Connie is survived by: daughter in-law, Barbara L. Churchill Rist Liebig of South Hartford, NY; grandsons, Raymond and Kelli Rist of Beckemeyer, Ill., Stephen and Kathy Rist of Argyle, NY, Russell Rist of Hudson Falls, NY and Marrk and Jean Rist of Beckemeyer, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Michael, Alicia, Adrianna, Hayley, Rylan, Nolan Rist and Josh Tucker; great great-grandson, Ryder Andrew Patrick; step-daughter, Violia White Ingalsbe and Bruce; grand-daughter, Robin and Raymond Felice and great grandchildren and family of Bridgewater, NJ; grandson Ronald and Kim Ingalsbe and great grandchildren and family of Hazelton, PA; granddaughter, Dawn and Joe Viella and great grandchildren  Shelby, Michael, Jennifer, 1 great great-grandchild and 1 great great great-granddaughter Zoey Rose Marie (making it the 6th generation) and family of Schuylerville, NY; many nieces and nephews;
Special thanks to the friends, doctors, staff  wherever she lived and most recently at PVI.  Thanks to her roommates, Madge, Nancy and friends Debbie,  Judy and Annette Brockway.  Also thanks to her great nieces Beverly Griffin and Rayna Henry and family who have helped with her care
Connie was preceded in death by her first husband Millard Alanson Rist, died in 1939 and second husband Earl Henry White died in 1999. Her daughter Florence May Stockwell , died in 1980, and son Nelson Millard Rist, died in 2001.  Her granddaughter Connie Marie Stockwell, sister Cecil Needham O’Dell and brother Lewis Needham.
A prayer service will be held in the spring with Chaplin Leland Smith officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Argyle.  Arrangements are under the direction of Compassionate Funeral Care Inc., Saratoga Springs, NY.
